About:
Join our litter cleanup around Beaver Lake! Hosted every year by H2Ozarks, Beaver Water District, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, this event strives to protect Beaver Lake, our drinking water source in Northwest Arkansas. Over 600,000 people get their drinking water from Beaver Lake, and it’s vital that we keep this beloved natural resource beautiful and clean.
There will be multiple locations to volunteer at. Volunteers can help clean up along the shoreline or by boat (BYO boat)! Clean-up supplies, snacks, and t-shirts are provided for all volunteers.
Afterwards, join us at the Hickory Creek Marina to celebrate! There will be lunch for all volunteers, as well as raffle prizes, a science fair with partner booths, and opportunities to learn more about Beaver Lake!
How to Volunteer:
- Register your team. Grab your friends, family or coworkers! The designated team leader will register once for their entire team. Team leaders will guide volunteers at their chosen cleanup site in the morning, where they will help pick up litter from the shorelines to protect the beauty and water quality of Beaver Lake.
- Pick your cleanup spot. When you register, you will be asked where you want to volunteer. There are multiple check-in stations listed below with links to Google Maps. If you’re not sure where to go, we can help you! Send us an email and we’d be happy to suggest our most needed locations.
- Get your supplies. Trash bags, gloves, snacks, and other supplies will be provided for all volunteers. You can pick supplies up the morning of the event at your site’s check-in station. You may also pick up your supplies early at Beaver Water District’s office. *More details about early pickup options will be added soon.
- Clean your site. Be sure to take pictures to capture the fun!
- Drop your trash off. Dumpsters will be provided at each designated site for volunteers to take their trash. *More details about trash collection will be added soon.
- Celebrate a job well done! After the cleanup, come back to Hickory Creek Park for a free lunch for volunteers, as well as raffle prizes, a science fair with our partner booths, and more!
