State government agencies, such as the Arkansas Department Energy and Environment Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources develop or update water policies through a formal “rule-making” process. These rules are designed to facilitate appropriate implementation of laws.
H 2Ozarks participates in the policy or rule-making process by attending stakeholder meetings and providing written comments to the agency. The great thing about this policy process is that the public is encouraged to participate as well. Everyone has the right to submit a comment during the public comment period.
